This page provides you with the summary of what to expect a week or so before the big moving day. It's time to start finalising everything and prepare yourself mentally and physically for the actual moving day. Remember: Keep calm! It’ll all be worth it in the end!

TO GO!
o Change of AddressContinue with advising companies of your change of address. o Finish PackingFinish packing using your moving checklist. Pack a separate box/bag with items that should be easily accessible on the first day or two in the new house. Pack carefully for babies. Appliances: defrost the freezer and refrigerator. Empty all water out of the washing machine and dishwasher. o ServicesCancel services, where appropriate, for the old house. Check with the new occupants if they will require an account transfer for gas, electric, water, satellite, newspaper, telephone or trash removal services of your move. Sign up for services at your new address. o Confirm Moving DatesConfirm that the moving company is still arriving on the agreed date. Confirm with the volunteers that they are still available to help. (Excuses somehow appear as the time gets closer!) Advise neighbours of the moving date and apologise for any inconvenience caused. o Bank AccountArrange for funds/currency to be made available from your bank account if moving overseas. Ensure all direct debits that need to be changed/cancelled have been taken care of. Cancel all subscriptions or transfer to the new account. o FoodFinish all remaining foodstuff that has not be packed away. Consider takeaways for the next few days! o New NeighbourhoodPut together a document detailing the location and map of the house and state of the neighbourhood. Add pictures if you can. Give the document to a close friend or relative. Please remember, the site is a guideline to better organisation.
